Koh Phangan is situated to the east of mainland Thailand, 10km north of Koh Samui. In recent years, the island has become known for the wild and hedonistic Full Moon (and half-moon) beach parties, but these distract from a sophisticated taste of paradise, enjoyed by couples and families of all ages.
Following a 45 minute speed boat transfer from Koh Samui, guests are treated to a refreshing drink during the 30 second walk from the sea to the hotel entrance. The staff welcoming committee make it clear immediately that the friendly and attentive staff are dedicated to delivering on the hotel motto “our home is your home”
A drive for homeliness and comfort is evident in all aspects of the guest experience. The easy going “village” supports a relaxing, unpretentious atmosphere and care has been taken to fuse Thai and Western influences in the decor, food and entertainment offered during the stay.
Rooms and facilities are spacious and comfortable. Most have direct views of the bay and we recommend asking for direct access to the beach. Lucky guests will enjoy reserved deck chairs only a couple of metres from where they have slept.
Booking the restaurant for dinner is also highly recommended. A good sized menu offers Thai and Western cuisine, a range of fine wines and fun cocktails. All food and drink is high-quality and beautifully presented, often with a local twist, such as the sumptuous mango-sticky rice dessert – definitely worth a try!
An impressive attention to detail pervades all areas of the Buri Rasa Phangan experience, and any bespoke requests are immediately taken care of by a dedicated team of attentive yet subtle staff. We highly recommend a stay here!
