Buri Rasa Samui is situated on the east of Koh Samui in the Chaweng district, home of Koh Samui’s main strip. Within in a couple of minutes’ walk from the hotel, guests can enjoy sophisticated cocktail bars, nightclubs, local and international restaurants and the main Muay Thai (Thai boxing) stadium on the island.
One of the many achievements of this hotel, therefore, is that once you step inside, you feel an overwhelming sense of calm. Rooms are situated beyond a pond featuring Koi carp, along a pathway decorated with local artefacts, plants and trees, where birds sing to guests as they move through the ‘village’.
The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable, and in line with the hotel’s ethos, the interior décor is a fusion of high-quality Thai woodwork and Western minimalism. The staff, who we found to be attentive and subtle at all times, make an effort to provide guests with a personalised experience, presenting gifts, such as a watermelon carved with a customised message during the daily service of the rooms.
The luxury extends to the food. Guests enjoy a vast choice of Western food and exotic local produce and tasty high-quality dinners on the beach were beautifully presented. We particularly enjoyed the local favourite, a dessert of ripe mango and sticky rice, washed down with fresh coconut milk.
During the days, guests can choose from an impressive range of activities. Boat trips to the nearby My Ko Ang Thong marine conservation park are highly recommended, as well as a day trip to some of the islands highlights, including sunset on a sand spit reaching out to the sea. If guests choose to relax within the hotel, we also recommend the top notch spa for a restorative Thai massage. We highly recommend Buri Rasa Samui!
