The Pangalusian offers a huge array of free activities, much of which is guided, so that even the least adventurous of travellers will feel at ease enough to try their hand at something new. There was so much to see and do, we really didn’t regret getting up at 6am whilst on holiday! We were able to take full advantage of most of the activities on offer even though we were only there for a very short stay. On our second day, we started the morning by snorkelling with the (harmless!) local sharks, followed by a lavish breakfast buffet, and a scuba dive with dedicated instructors – all completed before lunch time!
Perhaps the best thing about Pangalusian Island (or this little “piece of paradise” as the staff refer to it as) is the attentiveness and helpfulness of everyone who works at the resort. They were exceptionally welcoming and always nearby to help; whether it be to arrange a special dining experience or (yet) another mini-excursion to nearby islands.
This gem of a resort may seem like an effort to get to, but we promise that you will find, as we did, that your efforts will be well rewarded!
We spotted so much native wildlife during our stay both in and out of the water; from a water monitor lizard casually lying near the footpath, to the amazing diversity of marine wildlife near the house reefs a mere 100 metres from our beach villa.
Get up earlier than you would on other holidays – it’s well worth it, because there are simply not enough hours in the day to fit in all the wonderful activities you will want to do! Reward yourself after each activity-laden day with a heavenly, relaxing massage – and simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of feeling like you’ve left your work a million miles away.
