Made in Louise is the luxury European town house you always wanted to live in and, being family-run, Martin, his sister and their mother go out of their way to ensure Made in Louise feels like the perfect home away from home. From the restoration and redesign of the hotel, to the day to day running, all family members are closely involved in the hotel's success.
The twentieth century building, which is over 100 years old, has been redesigned with exquisite and carefully chosen modern touches yet, it undoubtedly retains its classical European elegance and charm. The modern design and colour schemes create a supremely relaxing environment and perfectly compliment the high ceilings, large windows, and stunning central stair case that showcase the building's heritage.
Concentrate and you'll appreciate all the subtle personal touches on display. The strange and wonderful artwork, the unique snacks and beers, the puzzles, the log fire and the funky hotel stencils dotted about have all been carefully selected. These details show not only how much heart and soul have gone into Made in Louise but also highlight the fun-loving nature of Martin and his family.
The hotel is popular with regular business guests and travellers who choose comfort and care over the impersonal experience that often comes with the larger chains.
Great care is taken to ensure the guests feel as comfortable as possible. With each room comes a completely different design and we're told that returning guests often become attached to one room over another. After a tour of the hotel, I can see why. Rooms are split into four categories; cosy, comfort, charming and executive, although each room is as unique and interesting as the next. Space is well thought out, the design and furnishings tweaked for that room. Some have huge doors that open to the terrace, some have toilets hidden away in cupboards and others have small staircases leading up to bathrooms. Each room is colourful, stylistic and feels exciting and special. Extra gems include the amazing soft carpets, the giant beds, black out blinds, luxury linens, a beautiful breakfast area, a pool room and an idyllic quiet courtyard.
Every detail help to make a stay here a wonderfully relaxing experience where you can switch off from the strains and stresses of daily city life.
