Karpe Diem villa is a passion project, borne out of good business sense and a love for the tropics of Thailand. The gentleman behind the project is an investment banker with a thirty-year career in one of the world’s largest banks. Due to increased regulation in the banking industry, he turned to real estate development, and designed the incredible property that now houses Karpe Diem. In 2016, with lots of feminine touches from his wife, the villa was completed. It is one of the couple’s many properties, but is special because of the unobstructed views of the ocean it offers.
Karpe Diem allows you to do what it effortlessly promises: ‘seize the day,’ The property is a secluded oasis that is ideal for a small group of friends or family looking to cut off and enjoy luxury in an intimate setting. More like an immaculately kept vacation home than a hotel, it is easy to spend days at Karpe Diem without having to step out, and with the finest amenities and facilities, no one can blame you for doing so.
The villa is perched on top of a hill and spreads itself across multiple levels. On the highest level of the hill is a fully equipped gym and massage room. Through the other two levels, spacious bedrooms – complete with plush king size beds and huge bathrooms – spread themselves; these are connected through gorgeous communal spaces like an open, western kitchen, a billiard and Mahjong room, and a comfy lounge with a television that has enough movies to keep you entertained for a year. The twin infinity pools are undoubtedly, the best architectural feature: temperature-controlled and sophisticated, they look out in to an inviting sea. The décor of the villa is minimal, clean and high quality: though every space looks lived in and comfortable, each piece of furniture looks nearly new.
While the Karpe Diem architecture is undoubtedly, awe-inspiring, what really makes the property loveable is the staff. A spirited couple double up as managers and cooks, and are experts in the art of hospitality. Whether it is a simple coffee or a Thai-spiced lobster you request, they make and serve everything with careful attention. This makes the meals at Karpe Diem absolutely unforgettable; everything on the table is succulent and fresh, and the hours between meals are full of anticipation. The massage lady too, who is available to guests upon request, is blessed with talent: proficient in both Thai and Western massage, this offering completes the luxury experience.
