Top Secret

Prince Siddharth’s own family home is close and exhibits his passion for horses. We hear that when Madonna visited, she also spent much of her time at Mihir Garh.

Mihir Garh was a passion project and a risky one too: the challenge of building a conceptual property in a desert was immense. Luckily, for Prince Siddharth and his wife Rashmi, all their efforts have paid off. Today, the couple recognize the property as first and foremost, a tribute to local Jodhpuri culture. The evidence of this is unmistakable: the famous craft of mirror work covers much of the furniture. Together, with pieces from their own home–like antique tiffin boxes – Mihir Garh is in itself, somewhat of a living museum.

The Review

A brave experiment in design, Mihir Garh --which is made up of nine and a half suites --revolutionizes the cliché of royal tourism in India. Minimalism, cleanliness and local materials are celebrated, and offer a refreshing break from the heavy opulence of palaces. A stunning infinity pool is a major highlight; its presence is anomalous in this deep desert. While Mihir Garh’s design is innovative, its services are committed to making every visitor feel like a modern day king or queen. This is clearly communicated through a decadent food menu in which super rich Rajasthani fare is a major feature. Eating laal maas (red meat) under a full moon on a private terrace where dinner is set up just for you definitely leaves you feeling less mortal. Also, to help you digest the opulent cuisine, a host of well-planned activities .Many of which are personally guided by Prince Siddharth and his wife Rashmi, are available. To get a sense of the cultural context around Mihir Garh, guests are advised to take advantage of the many walks, village safaris, and picnics that are offered.
