Top Secret

Their existence is severely threatened by a transmissible form of cancer, and the sanctuary will house an insurance population of devils – meaning Saffire will play a key role in safeguarding the survival of the species.

The iconic enterprise was completed in 2010 and went on receive a number of prestigious awards.

The Review

The adventure begins at the turn-off from the main road with the 9km off-road experience that is the Spicer’s Peak Lodge driveway. By the time you crest the mountain and drive out through the bush to the grassy plateau where the Lodge is situated, the anticipation levels are high on what you’re about to arrive to. A friendly welcome of French champagne and a seasonal locally sourced antipasto platter to unwind to in front of the majestic open stone fireplace is the perfect way to kick off your stay. Hand-hewn Scottish stones brought to Australia in the early 1900’s are a standout featured throughout the architecture of the Lodge and sit comfortably alongside a soft-toned interior and sweeping views of the Queensland highlands from your lofty location. Featuring luxury lodge suites or stunning private one and two bedroom villas nestled in the bush to relax in, the Lodge really is the perfect romantic choice to get away for some quality time together. Whether you choose to wile away the hours in your own private infinity spa, try some mountain biking, or treat yourself at the magical Spa Anise, your time will be well spent and your relaxation levels high in the fresh mountainous air. Gathering in the main lodge at sunset for canapés and champagne around the open fireplace along with fellow guests is the perfect entrée to the culinary experience that is dinner at Spicer’s Peak restaurant. Whether you choose the chef’s degustation menu or order à la carte with wine matching you are in for the ultimate food experience, as well as an Australian wine education from Spicer’s knowledgeable and entertaining sommelier. There is no doubt that you will leave your Spicer’s Peak experience well-fed, relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to take on the world again…while wondering when you can next come back!
