Each of the residential suites house a shower room that doubles as a steam room - perfect for soothing tired, aching muscles following a long journey, and to start your next journey, beginning when you first arrive at THE BARAI.
Modelled after ancient Khmer aquifers, the spa is a sanctuary from the outside world, incorporating water and light into the design to invoke feelings of tranquility and peacefulness. McFarland house, the restaurant, is steeped in history and is a renovation and restoration project of the original building that was built in the early 20th century.
Ideally situated in the quiet beachfront town of Hua Hin, just 200km South of Bangkok, THE BARAI is easy to reach but hard to leave. A traditional Thai market and the town await exploration, if you’re able to tear yourself away from the serenity of the resort.
As soon as you arrive at THE BARAI you feel like you begin your journey and feel like you’ve entered another world, where you check all your worries at the door. By the time you’ve experienced your first daily, complimentary massage you’ll be so relaxed it will be hard to imagine ever having to leave this wonderful place.
Sublime, round the clock service offered throughout your stay will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your trip to THE BARAI. Professional yet personable, the resorts staff are always on hand and happy to help.
THE BARAI’s design reflects traditional Southeast Asian architecture and borrows inspiration from the Ancient Khmer temple Angkor Wat, beautifully incorporating natural light in creative and remarkable ways. The spectacular salt water tranquility pool is wonderfully designed, incorporating local materials and pre-existing natural elements to create and a truly sublime place for reflection.
The cuisine served at McFarland is a delightful, sensory experience for your taste buds, offering a wide ranging choice from local Thai dishes to more traditional Western style ones. Complimentary pre-dinner ‘snacks’ are served between 5-7, though be sure to arrive early so the delicious, ample treats don’t spoil your appetite.
